Welcome to the first issue of Pocket Nudes. For those who don't know me, my name is Tyler Keeler and I am the photographer, writer, and with the help of Blurb, the publisher of this series, which features my fine art nude photography.
I have been photographing the nude since 2004 and I have a rather extensive colletion of images, most of which have never been published or displayed. This series, which I intend to publish on a weekly basis, is designed to let some of those "neglected" images see the light of day to be appreciated by those who enjoy my work.
Each issue will showcase 10 images from a single photo shoot. As the series progresses, you will see that I have some favorite models, several of whom have become my close friends. Creating a beautiful photograph of someone is always a collaborative process, and I would definitely be remiss if I didn't recognize the beauty and talents of the women I have had the pleasure of photographing. Without them, I would not be able to create my art.
For this first issue I have chosen a photo shoot done in June, 2007 with 2 models: Amanda and my good friend Elisabeth. The shoot was done at 2 locations in Virgina on a beautiful early summer day.
Tyler has been taking photographs since 2004 when he decided it was high time to develop a creative talent. His decision to focus on the nude in photographic art stems from a belief that the human body is not something to be ashamed of or feared, but rather is the highest form of beauty and the inspirational source of some of the most beautiful art created throughout history.
Tyler was self taught until January 2010, when he enrolled in the Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts' digital photography program at their Georgetown DC campus. He completed the program in September 2010. He works primarily using digital photographic equipment, but is beginning to explore medium format film in his more recent work.
Tyler is available for private commissions and commercial projects.
