SQUARE FORMAT . A year or so ago, the Author produced a large landscape format book 'The Sandstone Estates Railway' (still available) which was, quintessentially, a steam railway book, It focused on the larger ex South African Railways locomotives, particularly the Garratts and Kalahari.
A square format has been chosen for this e-book. . Text is limited to an introduction and the book presents a photo souvenir of many aspects of the heritage operations at Sandstone, not just the steam railway. The steam locomotives play a major part, but this time the smaller locomotives are featured just as much as their big brothers. Also here are other magnificent steam machines ..... traction engines, steam cranes, rollers ....... a veritable cornucopia of vintage, mostly working, machinery to satisfy all tastes. The renowned Sandstone oxen even have the last word. If you have been to Sandstone and wish you had a souvenir photo book, look no further. If you haven't been, but wish you had, then you probably need this book even more.
As always a full and free preview of the book is available.
