Beautiful photographs chronicle an 18 day trip around southern Africa from Cape Town to Kruger National Park to Victoria Falls to Botswana. The first third of the book is made up of our favorite photographs of the landscapes and wildlife of the area and is followed by illustrated descriptions of the guest houses, guides, and transportation along the way. Sub-saharan Africa has much more than the Big Five and this book depicts the landscapes, birds, and several key locations around south western Africa.
Sue and I are Rich Howe Photography. I started in photography in the 1970s with Polaroid SX-70 and Canon 35mm film cameras but I got serious about the technical aspects of the art when Sue gave me a digital SLR about the time they began to equal the quality of 35mm film. I took some college classes, studied several art and photography books, did some workshops with professional photographers, and made thousands of pictures. I was privileged to participate in a workshop with Nels Akerlund, a freelance photographer for magazines such as the National Geographic Society, The New York Times, and Architectural Record. Sue has a great "eye" for memorable scenes and is phenomenal at editing all my shots into a presentable collection.
