Born and bred in Dublin, Eamonn Doyle studied painting and photography in Dun Laoghaire College of Art from 1987 to 1991. Caught up in the burgeoning rave and electronic music scene of the early 1990s, he devoted much of his energy over the next 20 years to DJ’ing and music production, founding several pivotal club nights, alongside the highly respected record label D1 Recordings. In 2002 he established DEAF (Dublin Electronic Arts Festival), an unprecedented platform for showcasing experimental electronic music and visual art in his home city. He returned to photography in 2008, employing a 10x8 view camera and 35mm film. Since then he has also ventured into 35mm digital for colour work. Most of his work is produced in and around the city centre location in which he has lived for the past 20 years.
